And, with so few homes on the market, buyers will have fewer options, so you set yourself up to get the most eyes possible on your house.

Here’s what industry experts are saying about why selling now has its benefits:

Lawrence Yun, Chief Economist at the National Association of Realtors (NAR):

“Inventory levels are still at historic lows. Consequently, multiple offers are returning on a good number of properties.”

I just had the most fun getaway with some fellow moms in Lake Geneva.

One night, no kids, no husbands, just the ladies and a great mini vacay to one of the most popular spots within a few hours of Madison. I can't take the credit for planning - that goes to our fearless leader, Jen, but we had such a fun time, I wanted to share some of the spots we checked out so you can replicate your own weekend away from it all!

STAY

We stayed at a great Airbnb about 10 minutes outside of Lake Geneva. It was reasonably priced, was super clean, had everything we needed for an overnight. 3 large bedrooms and 3 full baths, large screen porch overlooking a small pond and kitchen stocked with all the necessities.

EAT

We started our weekend with lunch at…

Ted Williams and Tony Gwynn are two of the greatest hitters in the history of professional baseball with career batting averages of .340. That sounds amazing but means that six out of every ten times they got up to the plate, they recorded an out.  But they still went to the plate with the same goal and attitude. Now more than ever, we can draw parralels between baseball and real estate.

Buyers have a multitude of reasons to feel discouraged between low inventory, higher interest rates and increased compettition. However, those 3 strikes don't make you out. Buyers still need to step into the box and take their cuts. Buyers agents are the hitting coaches,  offering guidance,  new approaches, unique solutions and analytics to give our hitters the best…

Keeping up with home values in your neighborhood can be a daunting task. After all, if you try to be an informed homeowner and follow along with prices by looking at any of the “consumer-friendly” sites like Realtor.com, Redfin or Zillow, you’ll find that their automated valuation formulas come up with a totally different range of prices on each site for a given address. They use different comparable sales, some use active listings while others don’t, and some give a range in prices so wide that it simply doesn’t provide any sort of useful data to determine if you have leverageable equity or if your home has appreciated at all.

Ultimately, one of the best ways to stay in tune with your home’s valuation is to keep an eye on the sales happening in and…

Realtor Government Day is an important event for real estate professionals to participate in because it provides an opportunity to directly engage with lawmakers and policymakers at the local, state, and national levels. It allows realtors to advocate for policies and regulations that benefit the real estate industry and ultimately, their clients.

During Realtor Government Day, real estate professionals can educate their elected officials about issues affecting the real estate market, such as housing affordability, property taxes, and zoning regulations. By meeting with lawmakers, realtors can also voice their support for legislation that promotes homeownership and the growth of the real estate industry.

As an attendee of Realtor…

Why Buying a Home Makes More Sense Than Renting Today

Wondering if you should continue renting or if you should buy a home this year? If so, consider this. Rental affordability is still a challenge and has been for years. That’s because, historically, rents trend up over time. Data from the Census shows rents have been climbing pretty steadily since 1988.

And, data from the latest rental report from Realtor.com shows rents continue to grow today, even though it’s at a slower pace than we saw at the height of the pandemic:

“In March 2023, the U.S. rental market experienced single-digit growth for the eighth month in a row . . . The median asking rent was $1,732,up by $15 from last month and down by $32 from the peak but is still$354 (25.7%)…
