As a mom and a realtor, I know that the transition from summer fun to the structured routine of a new school year can be both exciting and overwhelming. Whether you’re juggling the demands of work, school supplies shopping, or simply trying to keep everyone organized, the start of the school year is a hectic time. Here are some tips to prepare your home and family for a smooth back-to-school season.

1. Create a Command Center

Having a central place where everyone can keep track of schedules, to-dos, and important papers is a lifesaver. Consider setting up a command center near the kitchen or in another high-traffic area. Include a calendar, whiteboard, and storage for school forms, permission slips, and other documents. This way, everyone in the…

July Broker NoteWe've been experiencing an abundance of rain in our area lately. Whenever we endure days of torrential downpours and storms, my anxiety spikes as I think about my current and past clients. My immediate concern? Wet basements. Over my years in real estate, reviewing hundreds of inspection reports and learning from inspectors has taught me a lot about keeping basements dry. Here are some crucial steps homeowners can take:

  1. Check Your Gutters! Clogged gutters filled with leaves and debris obstruct water flow, causing it to spill over the sides and pool near the foundation. This exacerbates any existing vulnerabilities, potentially leading to water intrusion.

  2. Inspect Your Downspouts! Bent or improperly functioning downspouts, or missing…

Last month I celebrated a super exciting closing with my client, Stacy!

Stacy was a first time homebuyer who never thought that buying a home could be possible for her. She met with Anna at UW Credit Union in May who put together some great financing options for her and instilled her in that her dream of homeownership was indeed possible. Anna then connected Stacy with me to find and secure the perfect home. We met and I educated Stacy on the market before we starting showings. After only 2 showings, she fell in love with a sweet Bungalow in Eken Park where she can bike downtown for work and walk to restaurants just down the street!

We sat down and discussed the terms for a competitive offer on this property that already had a few offers…

Selling a home can be both an exciting and challenging experience. One of the most critical aspects of the process is pricing your home correctly from the start. Here's why getting the price right is essential:

1. Attracting Potential Buyers

First Impressions Matter

  • The price of your home is one of the first things potential buyers will notice. A well-priced home attracts more interest, leading to more showings and offers.
  • Overpricing can deter buyers, who may perceive the property as out of their budget or not worth the asking price.

Market Dynamics

  • Real estate markets fluctuate, and understanding current market conditions is crucial. A competitive price ensures your home stands out among similar listings.

Jena was referred to me from her ex-boyfriend who was our family car salesmen. She had been on a couple showings with a Realtor who was not making herself available to help Jena with showings and not communicating. As a first time Homebuyer, Jena felt really under prepared and really was unsure if she would have the ability to buy in this market. She needed direction and guidance, so she reached out to me, and we had a long talk about her goals and where she was at in the process. We hopped to showings right away and wrote on a few houses within the first week. We were at a very competitive price point, so even with very strong offers, we missed out on a couple, but with patience and persistence, we found the perfect place for her and her 2 daughters.
