As the leaves change and the air becomes crisp, Thanksgiving offers us a moment to reflect on the blessings in our lives. One significant aspect that often takes center stage during the season is the concept of home. In this blog post, we'll explore the ties between Thanksgiving and real estate, delving into the reasons why finding the right home is a cause for gratitude.

A Place to Gather

Thanksgiving is synonymous with gathering friends and family around a table filled with delicious food. Your home serves as a backdrop for these cherished moments. Whether you're hosting a large family gathering or an intimate dinner, the importance of a welcoming and comfortable space cannot be overstated.

The Heart of Traditions

Homes often become the…

This might ruffle some turkey feathers, but...

You don’t need to time the market or wait for lower interest rates. You don't need to wait for home prices to go down or to see what happens after the election. And you definitely don't need to “google” more, consume allllll the news, or to obsess over your Zestimate.

<consider the feathers ruffled>

What you do need?

You need an agent for life.

Because the market is always changing. Today's market is not the same as it was 10 years ago, 6 months ago, or even 5 weeks ago!

And if you're not a real estate professional, you don't have time to study the trends or track the market. You have better things to do than to keep track of things like mortgage rates or home values or average…

Hi, my name is Iris Chavarria! Not only am I a proud Husky Homes agent, but I’m also a runner, currently training for the Madison Marathon. I often get asked, “What do you think about while running for so long?” The answer… real estate.

Just like training for a marathon, navigating Madison’s real estate market takes planning, stamina, and a well-paced strategy. As we head into November, this season’s market comes with unique hurdles, but with the right preparation, you can reach your home-buying goals successfully. Here’s a look at how you can stay on track, mile by mile.

1. Start Strong: Kick-Off with a Market Overview

Just like setting your route for a marathon, it’s crucial to understand Madison’s current market conditions. November brings a…

October was a record-breaking month for Husky Homes! While the rest of the real estate sales market is down somewhere between 2-10% depending on what micro-level you are looking at, our team’s sales are up a shocking 265% year over year (comparing October sales in 2023 to 2024), and 105% month over month (September vs October 2024). In a market with SO much volatility due to rising inventory, rising interest rates and election hopes and fears, our team has vehemently persisted in helping our clients find successes.

Despite this excitement, we are still seeing very real challenges for many buyers and sellers. Yes, inventory is rising, but it seems to be rising in pockets that don’t necessarily need inventory – certain municipalities are seeing a surge…

As we approach Veterans Day on November 11th, it's an opportune time for the real estate community to reflect on the sacrifices made by our veterans and to recognize the unique contributions they bring to our neighborhoods. This day serves as a reminder to honor those who have served in the armed forces and to explore how we can support them in their journey towards homeownership.

The Importance of Veterans Day

Veterans Day is a time to express our gratitude to the men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms. It’s a moment to acknowledge their bravery, commitment, and the countless sacrifices they and their families have made. As members of the real estate community, it's important to consider how we can give back…

Buying and selling a home simultaneously takes coordination, communication and above all else, collaboration. I have known Mike and Hayley for over 7 years and am honored that they trusted me to help navigate this process. They had looked at multiple existing homes and ultimately decided to build new. They met with multiple builders yet decided on Veridian Homes who they had worked with on their previous home. This time, they chose to fully own the process, choosing a lot, home plan, making upgrades inside and out and even deciding to delay some items until move in. The team at Veridian made the process smooth and stress free. We walked multiple lots and ultimately decided on their new, nearly half acre lot in Deforest.

Their new home combines the…

Is It Time to Upsize? Knowing When Your Family Needs a Bigger Home

Moving to a bigger home can be a big decision, filled with excitement and maybe a little uncertainty. For many families, the choice to upsize often comes after feeling squeezed in the current space or realizing that their needs have evolved. Here’s how to know if your family is ready for that next move.

1. Your Family Is Growing

One of the clearest indicators that it’s time to consider a bigger home is when your family is expanding. Whether you’re welcoming a new baby, combining households, or hosting relatives more often, it might be time to look for a home that comfortably accommodates everyone.

2. Your Kids Need More Room to Grow

Kids grow up quickly, and so do their…
