Home ownership is a dream for many people. Unfortunately, between the earnest money, inspection, appraisal and additional closing costs, the sheer amount of funds required to purchase is a major obstacle to purchasing a home. And yet there is a way. A recent client was able to purchase her first home for her family in the city of Madison with over $108,000 in down payment assistance. In partnership with the Movin' Out Program, Johnson Financial Bank, Down Payment Plus, Home Start Program and the Home Possible Program we were able to make this dream a reality. In a time of uncertainty, changing interest rates and a challenging inventory climate, buyers need partners. Sara Whitley with Johnson Financial Group and Rebecca Wiese with Movin' Out worked together to make it possible for my client to buy an amazing condo that not only gave them all their own space, but most importantly, allowed her children to stay in the school of their choice.
This level of financial support isn't available for all home buyers. Yet many first time home buyers qualify for some level of support. If you are in the process of buying, ensure you talk to your realtor and lender about any type of down payment assistance.
