It Doesn't Quite Feel Like Spring
Well, it doesn't quite feel like Spring yet, but there are lots of fun Spring events coming up in Dane & surrounding counties! Here's my Spring hot list of fun, family events:
Belleville
Sunday, April 10
1:00-3:00pm
My favorite local farm, Brit McCoy, is opening up the farm this weekend for a casual open house. Come see the lambs and pick up some of their great farm products and meats. Order ahead and she'll have it ready for you!
Monona
Saturday, April 23
10:00-11:30am
A family-friendly and naturalist-guided hike through the nature center grounds and neighboring Edna Taylor Conservation Park. Here's hoping some flowers will be blooming! There's always something to spot and learn at the Nature Center. Free and no registration required!
Stoughton
Weekends April 15 - May 15
See Website for Times
An annual tradition for our family, rain or shine, the farm market is brimming with baby animals this time of year. Pet the baby goats, lambs, kittens, chicks, ducklings, puppies and more. It can get busy so plan ahead - tickets must be purchased online. Give yourself enough time (1-2 hours at least) to see all the animals.
Madison - 4 Locations
April - May
See Website for Days & Times
Make a date with nature & your little one. Naturing in Madison's Spring classes are for kids WITH their caregivers. At 4 different parks around the city, meet weekly and reconnect with each other and the environment. Eowyn and I have done several sessions, and they are always magical.
Madison
Friday, April 22
5:00-7:00pm
Have you checked out the new outdoor "Wonderground" at the Madison's Children's Museum? It brings all of the MCM's magic outdoors. On April 22, celebrate Earth Day with the Forward! Marching Band, science and art activities and more! Buy tickets online.
I always feel like Spring is the shortest season in Wisconsin, so take advantage of those warm-"ish" days and check out some of these events and activities. I hope to see you there!
