To say there is a lot that goes into being a real estate agent is an understatement. There are the obvious things that your typical agent will do which includes scheduling and attending showings, writing contracts and negotiating during inspections, but there are many other jobs that a great agent will do behind the scenes that keeps our team all very busy on a day-to-day basis.

Acting as a Real Estate Matchmaker is one of those hidden jobs and skills that our Husky Homes team works continuously to master. In the low inventory market that we have been stuck in for the past several years, we can’t just sit and wait for homes to come available on the market to write offers and get our clients under contract. In fact, it is quite the opposite. If we are acting like the majority of realtors, and waiting for a new listing to go active before our clients are introduced to it, we will never be able to get ahead of the competitive market.

What we do as matchmakers involves more than patiently waiting for the MLS to update. We actively seek out off-market home opportunities for our motivated purchasers, especially within our own database, to be able to find matches for people who would consider selling, but perhaps don’t want to go through the steps involved to prepare a home for the market. We also scour non-traditional sites to find For Sale by Owners (though the number of these are decreasing every year), and we look for homes that fit your unique criteria that were previously listed, but didn’t sell for one reason or another.

Inventory tends to increase as the months warm up, so we do expect more homes to come on the market as we approach the spring and summer, but we do also expect buyer demand to continue to increase throughout the upcoming months.
