Realtor Government Day is an important event for real estate professionals to participate in because it provides an opportunity to directly engage with lawmakers and policymakers at the local, state, and national levels. It allows realtors to advocate for policies and regulations that benefit the real estate industry and ultimately, their clients.
During Realtor Government Day, real estate professionals can educate their elected officials about issues affecting the real estate market, such as housing affordability, property taxes, and zoning regulations. By meeting with lawmakers, realtors can also voice their support for legislation that promotes homeownership and the growth of the real estate industry.
As an attendee of Realtor Government Day at the state capital yesterday, I participated in advocacy efforts to promote affordable housing for Wisconsin residents and addressed the discriminatory practices we are still seeing in our industry. I also joined other real estate professionals and OWN IT: Building Black Wealth Ambassadors in discussions with government officials and lawmakers about the importance of the program and how it has helped so many families and can continue to help even more with increased support.
