“You won’t regret working with Iris.” – Hugo B.
Helping Hugo buy his first home was one of those experiences that reminded me exactly why I do this work.
When we first connected, Hugo was feeling unsure, nervous about what the process looked like, what he needed to do, and how to even begin. Like many first-time buyers, he had a lot of questions (and rightfully so!). But after just one focused conversation, everything started to click. He left that meeting feeling informed and ready, and within a week, he was pre-approved, excited, and actively looking.
We toured one home. One. It checked all the right boxes.
He made a strong offer, competing with three others, and it was accepted. Just like that, his new chapter began.
What made this journey especially meaningful for both of us was being able to navigate it fully in Spanish. Hugo primarily spoke Spanish, and I knew how important it was for him to feel heard, comfortable, and supported through every step.
Spanish was my first language. I learned it from my mom, who is from Honduras and it’s a core part of who I am. Every day, I feel incredibly lucky to use both English and Spanish to help people feel grounded in a process that can otherwise feel overwhelming. Whether I’m guiding a client through paperwork, a walk-through, or just making space for their questions, I’m doing it in a way that feels natural to them. Being bilingual has been such a gift in this industry. It allows me to bridge gaps, build trust, and most importantly, help people plant roots.
As I’ve grown in my career, I’ve noticed a real gap, especially for first-time buyers when it comes to access and information. I meet so many people who say they’d love to own a home but simply never knew where to start, what steps to take, or who to trust. Now imagine trying to figure all of that out in a second language.
Over time, I’ve made it a priority to build a strong network of lenders, inspectors, contractors, and insurance agents who are not only trustworthy but also able to support my Spanish-speaking clients. My goal is to make this process not just possible, but comfortable and empowering.
Madison has become home for so many, including my own family. Every closing, every conversation, every moment of clarity with a client....it all adds up to something bigger: a growing, diverse, and deeply connected community.
So whether you speak English, Spanish, or a mix of both, I’m here to meet you where you are, and help you find home.
