McFarland has many renowned supper clubs featuring amazing fish fry, Prime Rib, and Old Fashioneds - including Toby’s, the Maple Tree, and Green Lantern. Be sure to stop by Toby’s for their Famous Friday Cod Fish Fry and enjoy a Bourbon Old Fashioned while you wait for your food to be ready! Get there before 5 unless you have flexible time to wait! The Green Lantern is a great spot for their Fried Haddock breakfast special, too – try it with Cholula Hot Sauce and their hashbrown specialty, Wiggies!
McFarland also features an elaborate trail system that connects the Lower Yahara River Trail to the Capital City Bike Trail downtown and throughout Madison and Fitchburg. Many people love taking a nice walk or bike ride on the boardwalk over Lake Waubesa to the Lake Farm County Park and Capital Springs Recreation Area. Throughout town, there are many catwalks connecting through the neighborhoods, lots of sidewalks, and 10 parks, all of which you can walk or bike to! Included in those parks is beautiful & wooded Urso Dog Park, which has recently been expanded, including a brand-new Disc Golf course!
